This is the case of Mr. A.M (Patient Ref. No. 5933) a 29 years old male patient who reported to us with complaints of genital Herpes since 1 yr. 9 months. He had reddish pin-pointed eruptions on his private parts with itching that was aggravated in the evening and night. He felt better by hot water bathing. There was a history of exposure to X-rays before the onset of the chief complaint. He was on conventional medications for about 8 to 10 months with no relief. His HSV IgG and IgM levels were 3.45 and 0.27(disease specific titres) respectively- and out of these HSV IgG titre was quite high.
Along with this he also complained of chronic lower backache and stiffness since the past 8 years that was aggravated by rest and in winter and ameliorated by movements or exercise.
His appetite was average and he was addicted to smoking 4-5 cigarettes a day with occasional alcohol. He was fond of spicy food and had an aversion to non-vegetarian food. He perspired profusely on his palms, face and chest. He very frequently had peculiar dreams of losing his teeth and sometimes of falling from bed.
He was a software programmer and was dissatisfied with his job that was quite stressful. He felt unappreciated at work. He was mild by nature but had great anxiety about his health. Also, he had a great fear of being married for which he was pressurized persistently by his parents due to which he often suffered from disturbed sleep.
There was a family history of Psoriasis and he had suffered from typhoid twice 4 years back.
Based on the entire history, a constitutional homoeopathic remedy was selected for him. He was prescribed Silicea 200 repeatedly along with a dose of Thuja 200. He was asked to stop all his previous traditional medications. He reported to us after a month and there was a mild improvement in his herpetic eruptions, the itching was much better than before. There was no relapse or aggravation in his condition inspite of stopping his previous conventional medicines. His backache was slightly better with stiffness persistent. In the second follow up, after another 1 month his herpetic eruptions were 40% better with no more itching. This time his backache and stiffness were about 50% better. All his complaints were about 90% better in the third follow up. He also mentioned that along with this, mentally he felt much more relaxed and less stressed than ever before. He could cope up with the stress much more easily and even started thinking positively in terms of marriage which he could never think of before. Before the fourth follow up he was asked to verify his HSV IgG, IgM titres which reported to be 0.33 and 0.5 respectively which was something that could not be achieved even after a year of conventional treatment.
Case 5:
21 year old male, K. K. C. (Patient reference number S5218) reported to the clinic for complaints of genital lesions since the last 7 months. He has developed multiple large, reddened, cauliflower-like, fleshy growths all around the shaft of his penis. These lesions had been increasing in size and number since then. He did not complain of any discharge or pain. On enquiring, he reported of having indulged in unprotected sexual contact with a commercial sex worker and after this he noticed the lesions coming up. His HIV test was negative.
He had an average appetite with desire for spicy foods. He had aversion to salty foods. He did not have any complaints pertaining to his bowel or bladder functions and sweating was also normal. He was more sensitive to heat in general and preferred to be in a cool environment. His sleep was good with no dreams in particular.
He was a student and he stayed with his parents and brother. He denied having any major stress in life. He came across as an affirmative person in general. He had suffered from Malaria in the past and apart from this there was no history of any other illness in the past. There was no history of any major illness in the family either.
Based on the above history he was prescribed a remedy that has been prepared at Lifeforce for the treatment of genital warts. Within a month of starting treatment, the patient informed that the warts were about 50-60% better than before. Another 6 weeks of medication cleared up his warts completely and he was as normal as he had been before he contracted this disease. He was very glad about this recovery since the other local treatments suggested to him had not worked effectively. He had even been told by his previous doctor that even if the conventional treatment will get rid of his warts locally, it will not remove the virus from his body leaving behind a possibility of recurrence later. It has been 4 years since his Homeopathic treatment was concluded and there has been no history of recurrence so far indicating that the virus has been completely cleared from his body with the Homeopathic treatment.
This case illustrates the efficiency of Homeopathic medicines in treating conditions like viral warts that otherwise do not respond well to conventional treatment.
