A 70 years old patient (Mr. J.K.V PIN Number L-6667) came for the complaints
of tinnitus (noises in ears), psoriasis, cervical Spondylitis, diabetic
neuropathy and vertigo.
He was well diagnosed and documented and had been under treatment from renowned
specialists. He was chiefly concerned about his Tinnitus, some thing, for which
he said, “I have spent a fortune.”
He saw impressive results in all
other complaints except Tinnitus and he implored Dr. Shah to pay chief attention
to this persistent and irritating complaint.
He was suffering from tinnitus since
the last 15 years. He had typical symptoms of ringing in the ears, buzzing
sound, some times echo.
These complaints increased in the winter and after traveling.
His case details were as:
He was a lean, stern voiced, disciplined person.
He retired from a senior position from a government department.
He had a penchant for perfection.
He belonged to a farmer community, he worked in the farm till he finished his
education and after he retired, he promptly returned to this occupation of
farming.
He stayed with his wife and son and daughter in law.
He described his nature as short tempered, reserved, brooding, sensitive and
anxious.
He was known as a very compassionate person at work, who was less like a boss
and more like a father figure.
Dr. Shah studied his case and prescribed Phosphorus and Mezerium in increasing
potencies, which helped him for his Diabetes, Psoriasis, Cervical Spondylitis
and to some aspect in his Diabetic Neuropathy.
It took a longer time for the tinnitus to show response.
But after 4-6 months of regular treatment, he started to show good improvement
in his tinnitus.
He was given medicines like Sulphur and Conium in various potencies, and
repetition.
Sulphur was used as an anti miasmatic and a remedy to enhance response in
chronic cases.
Within about five months of regular treatment he found very good relief in his
tinnitus. IN about one years time, he no longer had any complaints of
tinnitus, which was very troublesome to him and for which he was very
appreciative.
(Readers are suggested to avoid self-medication as every case of tinnitus may
call for different medicines.)
