Mrs. F.V., age 37, presented at our clinic on the 20th August, 2003, (reference No. L 4934), with the complaint of varicose veins which she had since 1995. Her leg, especially the left leg was painful most of the time; especially after waling a long distance or after a busy day. The problem appeared after the pregnancy and childbirth.
She also had hemorrhoids (piles), which is also suggestive of weak veins. She would bleed per rectum with every hard stool.
She was a mild, gentle lady with simple attitudes. She would tend to get angry on her child and tend to week if she has difficulty coping with the day to day affairs. She was a tall person with liking for sweets, spicy food and dislike for fruits.
She was prescribed a research based medicine along with a very popular homeopathic medicine called Pulsatilla Nigra. Within about six weeks time her pain in legs reduced dramatically. Her tortuous veins did not change by this time.
She continued treatment for a long time. When she last reported on 15th May, 2007, her varicose veins were significantly better with regards to the pain as well as swollen veins. She did not have increase in the varicosity. It is interesting to note that this case illustrated how a long follow up for over five years has documented controlled measures achieved by the treatment for varicose veins.
