Case of Vaginitis and Dyspareunia (painful sex act):
Mrs. P.J.T, 46 years old patient (Reference No. L 11445) presented to Life force with the terrible condition of Chronic Vaginitis and Dyspareunia, on 14th November, 2008.
She suffered with constant burning pain in the vagina for last two years, with almost inability to have sexual intercourse. She would have intercourse once in a while just to please her husband, but with intolerable pain. Her spouse had almost given up on sexual relation since last eight months. He pain in the vagina and labial folds is like that of having fire in those areas. Her pain was also described as if ‘having a wound’.
She had no vaginal discharge. She gives a history of hysterectomy (removal of uterus) in 2004.
She had, obviously, been to a couple of gynecologists and dermatologist, who prescribed courses of anti-fungal medicines, antibiotics and anti-allergics, with temporary relief for a day or two.
She was investigated for all blood tests (VDRL, paps smear, herpes, HIV, etc.), vaginal smear for specific fungus, and all her reports were insignificant.
She also had some facial pain, sinusitis and colds.
Emotionally, she was jovial, highly talkative (can tall for hours, story after story) without major stress. Her relation with her husband and children has been happy. She was unhappy because she has not been able to have sex for a long time, despite having strong sex desire. Also, her sadness was related to the fact that she was depriving her husband from sex pleasure due to her ailment.
It was confirmed that her pain while having sex was not of psychological origin, as she had very strong sex drive. (Some patients of Dyspareunia often have an aversion to sex which reflects in the form of pain while having sex.)
She had no other significant history or findings.
Treatment:
Based on her detailed case evaluation, Dr Rajesh Shah prescribed her some conventional homeopathic medicine combined with some newly researched patented medicine, on 14th November, 2008. She was reviewed on the 5th December, 08, where she reported about 50% relief in her case, for the first time in last one year.
On the 7th January, 2009, she reported having no pain in the vagina and successful, painless sexual relations after many months. Her treatment was continued.
Interesting point to note is that how a patient who failed to respond to the conventional medication finally responded so very well to homeopathy.
