A 46 years old lady presented with 1589 mg/day proteins in 24 hours urine, responded very well to the treatment.

Forty-six years old lady came to the clinic for treatment of Nephrotic Syndrome. She was suffering from this illness for the past 3 years. She was having a persistently high protein loss in urine. Her 24 hours urine protein on 22nd December 2006 was 1589 mg/day. (The normal value is less than 150 mg/day.) Her urine routine showed Protein 2 ++.

She complained of weakness and swelling over the whole body, and she was having to swell on her face and legs. Her 24 hours urine proteins were persistently high, current reading was 1589 mg/day. She also complained of left-sided chest pain. She had pain in the left side of her abdomen. She looked very sad and depressed.

She had a poor appetite. She had an aversion to sweets and milk. She was sensitive to cold air and winter. She had undergone a hysterectomy in 1994 due to an ovarian cyst. She complained of headaches in the sun.

She was staying with her husband and two sons. Her husband was irritable and dominating by nature, he would get violent and abusive. She underwent a very stressful life; she would feel neglected and would feel deeply anguished. She was sad and unhappy. She felt anger and vexation and sometimes felt like leaving the house, but she always tolerated everything for her children. She would feel duty-bound towards her children and she took up their responsibility, looked after their well-being and education. Both her children became engineers.

Dr. Shah studied her case in detail and prescribed her Mag Carb on 22nd December 2006.
After a month she reported that her weakness had reduced, her chest pain and pain in the abdomen also reduced very substantially. She also looked fresh and happier; she reported a 50 % improvement in her depression. She was feeling overall fresh.

The patient repeated her 24 hours urine protein after three months of treatment and her 24 hours urine protein on 13-3-07 was 267 mg/day. Her 24 hours urine protein on 22nd December 2006 was 1589 mg/day. (The normal value is less than 150 mg/day.) Her urine routine showed Protein 1+. She reported an overall improvement in all her complaints.

The patient repeated her 24 hours urine protein on 12th June 2007, it came at 55. Patient-reported feeling very fresh, energetic, and active. She also reported that her Triglycerides (158) and her serum Proteins (6.79) and her serum Albumin (4.41) had all come back to normal levels.

These reports are confirmatory of overall improvement, and it also denotes the potential of homeopathic medicines in this serious autoimmune disease. The patient did not require steroids in the entire course of treatment.
