A case of oral and genital Lichen Planus cured in 4 months....

A young patient Mr. P.S. [15222] reported to the center with complaints of oral and genital Lichen Planus. He was suffering from moderately severe Lichen Planus since the last one year. He had been prescribed a load of oral steroids in the past and he had experienced its side effects such as weight gain, hyperacidity and mood changes.

He attributed the LP due to severe work stress.

On examination one could see blackish streaks in the buccal mucosa on both sides. His genital LP was also distressing.

His case was taken in detail. We wanted to understand the patient as a person.

He worked for a stock investment company.

He stayed with his partner, they were planning for marriage. But the cost of living was so high that despite a good salary, they could not purchase there own home.

So they both worked harder, saved money, lived a frugal life style, no enjoyment, just long working hours. In his office, he faced job-politics.

He was denied a promotion, despite meeting all the targets.

His boss was discriminating. So again he was stressed out, he could not express his anger on his boss. He would fight with his fiance a lot. There was no happiness in his life. He was sad and frustrated. He nurtured a lot of suppressed anger. Even his parents and his fiances parents added to there stress.

He had a craving for spicy food.

He was more tolerant to cold.

Dr Shah examined him, and sough some more details.

After examining him, Dr Shah prescribed Lycopodium 30 C and a research based remedy.

In six weeks there was around 70 % relief. The lesions reduced very significantly.

The genital LP also improved very substantially.

With regular treatment, in four moths there was complete recovery.

Dr Shah advised him regular treatment for another 4-6 months as a maintenance therapy to prevent relapses.
