Case 6 Total recovery in a case of Acne Rosacea with Homeopathy
A 69-year-old home maker, Mrs. R. S. (Patient Identification Number: 15619) underwent our treatment for acne. She enrolled for the treatment on 9th March 2011. She complained of severe acne on her cheeks with redness on the nose and chin since 3-4 years. She had small acne like bumps which itched and bled easily with occasional suppuration accompanied with severe itching on the chin. The acne would get aggravated by cold applications especially ice and drafts of cold air. She also complained of hair fall since a year.
Her appetite was average with no specific cravings for food. She would sweat profusely on her face. She was sensitive to the cold weather. Her sleep was sound though she had weird and absurd dreams like her teeth have crumpled, her hands have fallen off, not able to reach the exam center on time and that she is not able to complete her exam papers.
She was a home maker but initially she was into a garment business. Her husband was retired. She has a son who was married and settled in Canada, she has one daughter who is married and stays nearby. She had past history of Ulcerative colitis.
She had family history of cancer (Father), Diabetes Mellitus (Brother and sister).
She was on antihistamines, thyroid supplements and anti-hypertensive medicines. She had tried taking conventional medicines for her acne, she was prescribed isotretenoin, however, it gave some side effects, so she stopped them.
She could relate her health deterioration to her marital stress. During case-taking she said that "I come from a social, jovial joint family- arrange marriage, husband was very reserved, short tempered, suspicious, he would always quarrel, he would not like her talking to her relatives as well. I felt like leaving him at that time, but due to my kids future, I had to stay together, so I pulled on with life. Now he is retired since 3 months, so it is difficult for me to manage some space with him, we are not on talking terms, my support is my daughter. Financially she also helps me, husband does not care, son also takes care, I am sensitive, emotional, mild and gentle. Now, I have involved into spirituality which keeps me stable."
Her case details were analyzed by Dr. Shah and medicines prescribed were Staphysagria 30, Sulphur 200 along with a research based medicine.
She visited on 8th June 2011 with a steady improvement in her acne rosacea. The itching on chin and the redness had reduced. She still had small acne on the nose and chin which bled with occasional suppuration. Her prescription was upgraded to Sepia 30, Staphysagria 30, Sulphur 30 and Carcinosin 200.
She again reported to Dr. Shah after a few months with significant reduction in acne rosacea, itching on chin and neck and redness with a overall fifty improvement. Dr. Shah then prescribed her with Sepia 30, two doses.
After a year's time she reported with further improvement in her acne, redness and itching which were cleared completely. The hair fall was also considerably better.
Remarks: The patient was happy to avail treatment with Dr. Rajesh Shah in regards to her acne rosacea. She was too worried about the same but her patience, positivity and trust in homeopathy helped her achieve marvelous results for her acne.
