A 27 Years old patient Mr. S.G....had recurrent cold and cough 3-4 times in a year

A 27 Years old patient Mr. S.G. (Patient identification number: L-9956) reported to the center for the treatment of recurrent cold and cough. He had recurrent cold and cough 3-4 times in a year, however since the last 4 years; the frequency had increased to once in a month. Since the past 10 months he had several acute attacks, for which he had been treated with conventional medicines. Each time the episode used to last for more than 3 weeks. These attacks commenced with sneezing and running nose wherein he used to have thick yellow discharge from the nose. He had cough with occasional vomiting of sputum. He had complaint of swelling over the lower eyelids and acrid lachrymation. There were episodes of severe bronchitis, almost 3-4 times in a year. These complaints were brought on by change of weather, cold weather, winters and after drinking cold water. The complaints were worse by taking curd, lemon, bathing and better in summer. Past history: he had suffered from eczema 8 years ago, over the Left leg which had responded to Homeopathy. Family history: His mother had Hypothyroidism. His father had asthma. His maternal grandfather passed away with Cancer in the abdomen and his brother had Diabetes. Physical General: His appetite was very good. He craved for sweets. His thirst was average and he had complaint of constipation. Mind: He was a very emotional guy with brooding tendency. He often took stress after quarrel with his closed ones like friends, relatives etc. He had stage fear and would easily forget the name of friends. His family set up: He lived with his roommate in Mumbai staying in guesthouse since 3months. He was working in BPCL as a petroleum engineer, his parents were residing in Bhopal and elder brother worked in the USA. After considering his case details, he was given a dose of Tuberculinum 1M and Silica 200C for 2 weeks. His progress report: During the initial phase of the treatment, there was a gradual improvement in his general health and no severe episode of bronchitis. After a period of 5 months on the treatment, he had a acute episode of cold and cough, this episode was managed well with the administration of suitable homeopathic medicines. Again he had severed episode of cough and cold on 23 Oct 2008, but then there was no wheezing, in any of these occasions. Also the frequency of such episodes was once in 10 month. With all these complaints, he had hair fall as well. Some additional remedies were added to his previous line of treatment. With further treatment for the next 4 months, his hair fall was very well controlled. After which he had reported of acute episodes on 20 Sept 2010 after Dec 2009. The frequency of occurrence of mild episodes of cough and cold had also reduced drastically even after stopping the treatment for longer duration of time. He was advised to continue the treatment for few more months so that this tendency of recurrent cold and cough is eradicated from his system. He was very happy and satisfied with the treatment.
