Excellent Relief From Alopecia Areata With Homeopathy

A 34-year-old male, Mr. V.R. (PIN: 34685) visited Life Force on 9th December 2917 with the complaint of alopecia areata.

He was suffering from the complaint of alopecia areata from the last 2.5 weeks. He had suddenly noticed a bald patch on his beard. There were almost 4-5 bald patches on the beard, and he had noticed the first patch on the chin area. Mild redness and itching were affecting his affected area. His scalp and eyebrows were not involved.

He was experiencing a hair loss of almost 10-15 strands/day. He had done a hair transplant twice.

He used Soframycin on the areas for 1 week, and he had stopped using it for 4 days. Currently, he was not on any medications.

The patient was a non-vegetarian with a normal appetite. He had cravings for milk and chicken and aversion to spicy food. His stool, urine, sleep, and thirst were normal. He had a habit of taking alcohol occasionally for 8 years and smoking 3-4 cigarettes/day from 10 years.

The patient was single and working in a bank. His father was in service and his mother is a homemaker. He used to stay alone in Mumbai and his parents were staying abroad.

The patient was calm and easy-going by nature. He was an extrovert and had a very good relationship with his parents.

He had a past medical history of typhoid, malaria, chickenpox, and urticaria. As per his family medical history, his father was diabetic, his mother was having hypertension, and his paternal grandfather had hypertension and diabetes.

His current weight was 95 kgs and BP was 110/80 mm Hg.

Dr. Shah studied the case in detail and prescribed him Phosphorus 30 along with research-based medicines for every 6 weeks. The patient was also given vitamin D and vitamin B12 supplements.

    Follow-Ups:

After 3 months of homeopathic treatment on 10th April 2018, the patient said that his patches were getting bigger and there was a new patch developed on his scalp. His thyroid test was done, and the revised medicines were prescribed to the patient.

After 4 months of further treatment on 6th August 2018, his relief from the complaints was much better with no more spread of the condition. The patient had also stopped smoking and stopped taking alcohol.

On 9th January 2019, his relief from the complaint was better and no new spots had developed. New hair growth was noticed on the patches.

After further treatment on 15th April 2019, his relief from the complaint was much better. The patient had experienced the regrowth of the hairs with no new patches on the scalp or beard.

On 16th June 2019, his relief from the complaints was almost 70% better. No new patch had been developed.

The patient is still on the medication and is very happy with the homeopathic treatment.

    Conclusion:

Alopecia areata is a difficult autoimmune condition. The conventional treatment for it comprises strong steroids and immunosuppressants. This case highlights that homeopathic treatment offered excellent relief from the alopecia area without making the patient dependent on any other medicines.
