Case Study of Ankylosing Arthritis
A 38 years old, lean patient Mrs. M.M. (L-9825)
came to the clinic with complaints of severe back for over six months. Before
starting the treatment, we got her investigated to make a correct diagnosis. Her
blood and scan reports led us to diagnose her case as that of Ankylosing
spondylitis She complained of severe back pain, pain in both legs, from hip joints to knee
joints, thigh pains.
She had
weakness, difficulty in walking. She had these complaints since the last 16 years, but they were more severe since the last 6 months.
She was on regular pain killers since the last 6 months.
She was cautioned by her family physician against taking pain killers. She was referred to the clinic by an existing patient. She stayed with her husband, 4 children and her in-laws..
Her husband worked in a MNC.
She described herself as an anxious and irritable person. She was very hard working and sincere by nature.
She had devoted her life for the family. Previously her 5 Brother in laws also stayed with her. Her husband being the eldest son, had responsibilities of the entire family.
She cooperated in settling each of the brothers-in-law. She was strict, and would shout on them if they did not listen, she would hit her children if they misbehaved or disobeyed.
She said, Managing the big family responsibility made her very exhausted and irritable.
Blood Investigations dated 3 rd July 2006
ESR: - 80 mm per hour.
RA Test: Negative.
HLA B27: POSITIVE.
She was mildly anemic.
She was sensitive to the cold weather.
Dr Shah studied the case and prescribed Sepia 30 C with Thuja 200 C, in varying doses; along with his patented medicine.
Within 6 weeks, she could discontinue all pain killers and her pain was relieved in 3 months. The Morning stiffness also reduced considerably.
She is still under treatment.
