Fortunately, homeopathy is available to treat the condition effectively.

Let’s have a look at a case of Nephrotic Syndrome that was treated with homeopathy successfully.

A 7-year-old female patient (PIN: 38235) approached Life Force Homeopathy on 11th October 2018 for the treatment of her Nephrotic syndrome. At the time when she approached Life Force for treatment, she had no symptoms. But, during acute episodes, the patient had symptoms, such as frothy urine.

The patient was steroid dependent from 2016. The common side-effects that she was experiencing due to steroid intake were hair loss and weight gain.

The patient was suffering from 3-4 relapses in a year.

In 2016, she had suffered from 2 relapses.

In 2017, she got 3-4 relapses.

In 2018, she had suffered from 2 relapses.

Her history of ailments was asked in detail. Her family’s medical history was also considered. Her past and current treatment histories were noted and prescription details were updated. She was taking the following medicines.

    1) T Vermisole 50 mg 3/4th tablet alternate day

    2) T Omnacortil 20 mg alternate day

    3) T Envas 2.5 mg od

    4) Syp Calcimax D 5 ml bd

    5) Calcirol sachet weekly once in the last 1 month.

A detailed case taking was done and her mental and physical generals were enquired.

    Physical Generals:

The patient was a vegetarian. She liked spicy food and other junk food items. Unlike other kids, she had an aversion to sweets. Her thirst was average, and she drank 2-3 liters/day. She perspired very little, and she could easily tolerate any extreme climate. Her motion was satisfactory, and she had no urinary symptoms. She enjoyed a sound sleep at night without any disturbances.

Her details of child development were asked. Her birth weight was 2.7 kgs, and she had normal milestones.

    Mental Sphere:

Her mental symptoms were also noted. She was a very stubborn child. She wanted things that she demanded, and, if she would not get them, she would cry and pull her hair. She was an active child both in sports and studies, and, as per her teachers, she was very talkative in class.

Her intellectual sphere was also considered. Her memory, perception, logic, intelligence, and analysis all were good.

Her systemic and general examination was done. Her weight (16kgs) was also noted and updated.

Dr. Shah went through the whole case history and, after analyzing the case, prescribed medicine to the patient.

    Follow-ups:

Her first follow-up was done on 26th November 2018. She was stable and her steroids were tapered off during this time.

By January 2019, her steroid dosage was further tapered off, and the patient was stable.

By March 2019, Omnacortil dosage was further reduced to 5mg from 20mg. The patient had no relapse all these months after she started with treatment at Life Force.

By June 2019, the patient was on a tapered dose of steroids, 2.5 mg alternate days.

By August 2019, the patient had completely stopped taking steroids.

In her next follow-up in October, the patient’s parents were complaining of frequent cold that she was getting in the last 2-3 months. Despite the frequent cold and cough, she had not been taking any steroids and was stable with her nephrotic syndrome.

In her further follow-ups, the patient was fully stable. She was better with her relief from the frequent attack of cold and cough.

The patient is still under treatment at Life Force Homeopathy. Her parents and family are extremely grateful to Dr. Shah and the entire team for the improvement that they got to see in their child. They thanked Dr. Shah for helping her get rid of steroids and other medications during the treatment course at Life Force Homeopathy.

    Conclusion

This case highlights that homeopathy works in reducing the frequency of episodes of Nephrotic Syndrome. Homeopathy reduces the duration of subsequent episodes. It also helps reduce the severity of episodes. Homeopathy can reduce and eliminate steroid dependency in patients. Homeopathy treats nephrotic syndrome in children effectively and safely without any adverse effects.
