A Middle-Aged Woman Recovered From Lichen Planus Significantly In A Short Duration

A 50-years-old lady, Mrs. A.D. (PIN 33193) consulted at Life Force Paud branch in Pune for her lichen planus complaints on the 16th August 2017. From the past four months, she had developed hyperpigmented, scattered, & spherical spots on her shoulder, right eyelid, and her both legs and hands. Her disease had progressed gradually. She was suffering from a lot of itching over her lesions. She had applied steroid on it. After stopping its application, her eruptions used to get aggravated gradually.

Besides lichen planus, she was also suffering from osteoarthritis of both the knees. She couldn’t walk a longer distance than usual.

The patient was of an average build. She was vegetarian by diet. She desired spicy food. She disliked sweet food.  Her thirst was very less. Her perspiration was profuse on the back. Her bowel movements were regular. Her sleep was sound.

She was lecturer by profession. Her husband was working in a research lab. Her son was an architecture, and her daughter was studying designing.
There was no specific past history.
In her family, her father had died due to esophageal ruptured. He had osteoarthritis and acidity. Her mother was suffering from tuberculosis of lung. Her sister had osteoarthritis and renal problem.  
She was a reserved and sensitive lady. She had a stressful life in the past due to family problems. She felt guilty, as due to the family problems, she did not concentrate on her carrier

Dr. Shah studied her case in detail and prescribed three doses of a research-based molecule to the patient.

On 25th September 2017, when she gave her first follow-up, her complaints had started to show a good improvement. All her spots had turned dull in color, and her itching had also reduced.

On 23rd November 2017, when she visited us, there was a good improvement in her condition. Her condition was improved by more than 70%. All her spots had turned dull in color, and her itching had also reduced.

On her follow-up on 22nd March 2018, she reported 80% improvement in her condition. Only dull, hyper-pigmented spots were observed. She was happy with the result.
