An Elderly Lady With Recurrent Allergic Bronchitis Got A Great Relief With Homeopathy & Without Anti-allergic Or Antibiotics

A 63-years-old female, Mrs. S. R. (PIN L-9324) registered for the treatment on 30th January 2007 for the complaint of her recurrent bronchitis which she was suffering for six months, ever since the winter had started. She would get acute attacks every two months and that would last for 8 to 10 days. She would always need a long course of the conventional anti-allergic medicines and antibiotics. It would start with sneezing with mucoid nasal discharge, long bouts of rattling cough with yellowish expectoration, difficulty to expectorate, chest congestion, occipital headache, and general weakness. She also used to suffer from the long bouts of a cough which would exhaust her. Her cough would get worse by lying down, at night, in the cold room, and while talking. She would sit up from the lying down position to get relief from the bouts of a cough.

On examination, her chest was found to have moist sounds (crepitations), which were suggestive of lung congestion. She was investigated at Life Force for blood profile and X-ray of the chest. Except for a mild increase in eosinophils (suggestive of an allergic element), all other values were normal.

She was diagnosed as a case of Recurrent Bronchitis.

She was reserved by nature. She was religious and emotional. There was no major stress in her life. There was a family history of diabetes.

Since she presented with an acute episode of bronchitis, she was prescribed some homeopathic medicine based on her present totality. She recovered from the acute phase in about five days.

Soon thereafter, another medicine was prescribed which was Dr. Shah’s research-based patented medicine. She was administered this medicine for about four months. With it, she did not develop an episode of bronchitis. She required no antibiotics or anti-allergic medicines.

She reported on 23rd March 2008, after over a year stating that she was completely free from the attacks of bronchitis and had thoroughly enjoyed the last winter.

Conclusion:

This case highlights that homeopathy is quite effective in providing the patient a great relief from recurrent allergic bronchitis successfully and safely without any side-effects.
