Miss R.K 19 years old female from Pakistan (Patient identification no- 16924) registered as an online patient for the treatment of Hair Fall on 14 October 09. She gave her case details by filling elaborate answers to the questionnaire sent to her.
She had hair fall since 2 years. She described her hair fall as more than 100 strands per day with thinning of hair more evident on the vertex. The partitions had become wider and left side of head had very thin hair with visible empty spaces. She had dandruff which presented as thick white flaky scales. She had itching over the scalp and her hair had become lusterless.
Past medical history was not significant as she did not suffer from any major diseases. There was no history of major diseases in family as well.
Emotionally she described herself as “Moody, pleasant and friendly”. She had very lonely childhood as her father died when she was 5 years old and her mother started working. She used to be in the company of her grandmother. Later on her mother remarried. Patient adapted to these changes around her. Initially she was very uncomfortable but slowly developed good relations with her step father. She described herself as very emotional and sensitive, she would get hurt easily.
She had marked desire for fresh refreshing drinks and had an aversion to fish.
After studying the case in detail, Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed research based medicine along with her constitutional medicine.
At the 4 months follow up (Feb 2010) Miss R.K reported that her hair fall and dandruff had reduced by 50%. She was very happy to note that the itching over the scalp had completely reduced. She stated that she had not noted any hair growth.
At the 8-month follow up (June 2010) Miss R.K reported that her hair fall was better by 80% and she could notice a visible change in terms of hair growth. Dandruff was completely treated. She was very happy. She was advised to continue the medication for another 4 months.
At the 12 months follow up (Oct 2010) Miss R.K reported 100 % improvement. The complaints of Hair fall and dandruff were completely cured. She was advised to stop the medicines.
