Trigeminal neuralgia severe pricking pain with irritation reduced drastically.

A 44 year’s old patient Mrs. M. S. (Patient Identification Number 12048) visited Life Force on 20th April 2009 for the complaint of Trigeminal Neuralgia. She was suffering from this since the last one year. She would get severe pricking pain on right side of her face with irritation and watering of right eye. Pain used to radiate to the right side of the head and throat as well. She would get this pain three to four times a day.

She was on Tablet Zeptol (Carbamazepine) 200mg per day and Tablet Gabapentine 300 mg per day. Her pain was not under control even with these medications.

She was having average appetite with strong craving for spicy food. Perspiration, bowel habits and urination were normal. Sleep was sound. There was no family history of any major illness.

Mrs. M.S was a home maker. She had very sensitive and emotional nature. She was very irritated and frustrated because of her illness.

Based on the above history Dr. Rajesh Shah prescribed homeopathic medicine. Within first two months, there was slight improvement in her pain. Irritation and watering of eyes reduced. She was advised to reduce the doses of allopathic medicines.

In next two months, her pain reduced further. She could stop all her allopathic medicines by this time. She did not get increase in her pain even after stopping allopathic medicines. Frequency of pain reduced to once or twice per week.

In all her further follow ups there was significant reduction in frequency and intensity of pain. By 1st March 2011, she had completely recovered from her Trigeminal Neuralgia. Of course, she would need to continue with medication.
