A case of palmo plantar psoriasis got completely cured with 15 months medication

26 years old Mr. Y. V. (Patient Identification Number - 16092) visited our Borivali clinic on 22nd May 2011 for palmo – plantar Psoriasis.

He had been suffering from psoriasis since a year. It had started to gradually spread since last 4 – 5 months. The cracks would itch and cause scaling. It had started after he had visited Delhi; probably after exposure to the cold climate; a sudden change of temperature may have triggered it. He was continuously applying steroid based creams since the last 6 months. The creams would give some relief. As his creams were changed by his skin specialist doctor every month, he decided to resort to homeopathy for a permanent solution.

He also complained of hair loss since 2 -3 years. His father had developed male pattern baldness. He was also heading towards male pattern baldness.

His appetite was average with no specific liking or disliking. He would often feel thirsty. His perspiration was scanty. He was sensitive to cold weather.

He was a metallurgy engineer by profession and was working in the government minting press. He belonged to Hyderabad. His family consisted of parents and 2 brothers. He had shifted to Mumbai a year back for serving in the minting press.

His father was a grocery shop owner. His mother was a home maker. His elder brother owned a medical shop. His younger brother owned a mobile repairing shop.

He was very polite during the entire case taking. He described himself as ‘reserved, honest and responsible person’. He was satisfied in his personal and professional fields. He could not oppose any wrong done by his superiors. He would feel lack of confidence in the initial work period. There were no major stresses in his life.

His case was studied in detail by Dr. Shah and was prescribed some research based medicines.

After 4 months of medication he reported on 7th October with considerable improvement in his psoriasis. As he had been applying the steroid creams in the past, it was advised to be gradually tapered down. He was also explained some mild flare up being anticipated due to the withdrawal of those creams. He was then prescribed Sulphur 30c single dose along with the research based medicines.

After 10 months of medication he reported on 5th March with 40% improvement. The scaling and itching had significantly decreased. The spread had stopped completely. He was prescribed Sulphur 200c single dose along with the research based medicines.

After 1.5 years of regular medication he reported on 2nd October with 75% recovery. The soles were improved by 60% while the palms were better by 90%. The itching was also further better. There was mild scaling. The dryness had significantly decreased.

He is still continuing the medicines to get completely recover.
