Case-3: A builder opted for homeopathy instead of cortisone shots for Calcaneal Spur

A 41 years old, male patient, Mr.N.A.D. (Patient Reference Number 13787) visited the clinic for the treatment of his calcaneal spur. He was suffering from bilateral calcaneal spur (calcaneal spur in both his feet) since the last one and a half years.

He had severe pain in both the heel. The pain was relatively more in the right heel as compared to the left heel. Due to severe and continuous pain, there was a sensation of hardness in the right heel.

The pain was more early morning, on wearing shoes, walking and after stress.

He also suffered from acidity since the last 15 years.

He was on painkillers for the heel pain, but every time he took a painkiller, the acidity increased and he would have burning, chest discomfort and hiccups followed by weakness.

N.A.D. was a businessman. He was into constructions. He took up building large housing projects. He had high ambitions. Quite often he faced stress related to business. He was a perfectionist, by nature. Delay, sloth would make him angry. He would shout at his subordinates.

He would get anxious about making big decisions. He had fixed ideas.

The X-ray findings on 21st April 2010 were suggestive of the bilateral calcaneal spur.

Pt was more tolerant to winter than summer. His palms and soles were warm.

After the case was taken in detail, Dr Rajesh Shah studied it and the treatment was started.

Every case of disease calls for a study of the patient`s constitution which includes

various physical aspects of the disease as well as the in-depth study of the mental sphere such as emotions, psychosocial background, behavior, and personality pattern.

The homeopathic remedy selected in every case after such a detail study is called the constitutional medicine, which when administered in the correct dose brings about harmony at the constitutional level, works at the immunological level bringing about normalcy.

Dr Shah prescribed Lycopodium 200 C for the patient. Within 6 weeks there was relief in the heel pain by 90 %. Mr N. A. D. was surprised because he was suffering so much and from quite long time, he said that he dreaded placing his feet on the floor in the morning but now he finds it difficult to recollect that he had this pain. He has become an ambasaddor of homeopathy!

Homeopathy medicines have self-healing potential. There is a bony outgrowth in calcaneal spur which causes pain and discomfort. This excessive bony growth heals itself and resolves with homeopathy. There is no pain or discomfort and the bone regains its normal shape.
