Case-8: 45 years old pre-primary teacher was 80% relieved of her sleeplessness

Mrs. V. R. D., pre-primary teacher, aged 45 years visited (Patient Identification Number - 17834) our Borivali clinic on 27th December, 2011 accompanied by her son. She was suffering from Sleeplessness since 10 – 12 years. Now since 2 years it had increased. She would sleep for only 4 hours and it was unrefreshing. She would take sleeping pills as and when required which were prescribed by her doctor. A year back she had taken a tranquilizer for a year. She had also suffered from anxiety neurosis at the age of 16 years. She had also suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder in the past.

She was also suffering from cramps in the leg since 20 years. There would be pulsating type of pain daily while resting or sleeping. She had taken some multivitamins but it did not help much.

She had few gastric issues like fullness and tightness of abdomen. There would be nausea and headache but no burning pain. She had not taken any medicines for the same.

She had an average appetite with liking for curd and buttermilk. She would not perspire much. She was sensitive to cold weather. A year back she had attained her menopause.

She was working in a government organization for children. Her husband was running a small scale business. She had 2 sons and both were studying.

She was short tempered and would get easily irritated in small matters. She would feel irritable if her suggestions were not followed. She would constantly feel the need to be in company. She could not stay alone.

Her brother had suffered from RA.

She was prescribed Sepia 30c 2 doses along with research based medicines by Dr. Shah.

She reported on 7th February with considerable improvement in her sleeplessness. She could now sleep for 6 – 7 hours. The cramps in legs and the acidity had also improved.

After 5 months of medication she reported on 1st May with further improvement in her sleeplessness and anxiety. The restlessness had also reduced. The acidity and leg pain were better by 40%.

After 8 months of medication she reported on 17th August with 60% improvement in her sleeplessness, anxiety and restlessness. The acidity was better by 75%. Her case was reviewed and accordingly the prescription was upgraded by Dr. Shah.

She reported on 21st November with further improvement in her sleeplessness, anxiety and restlessness. The acidity and pain in legs were further better. Her case was reviewed and medicines upgraded by Dr. Shah.

She then reported on 21st January with 70% improvement in her sleeplessness, anxiety. Her leg pains were better by 80%. The acidity was better by 75%.

Overall she was feeling happy and relaxed.

She is still continuing the medicines to achieve the best possible recovery for all her complaints.
