“Excellent result in Lichen Planus Pigmentosa at Life Force.”

A 28-years-old girl, Ms. A.J.M. (PIN- 29899) consulted at Life Force for her Lichen Planus Pigmentosa complaint on the 27th September 2016. She had developed dark hyperpigmented spots scattered on her forearms, abdomen, back, both thighs, and neck since seven-eight years.

Initially, in 2006, she had some skin complaint, for it she had taken some medicine. After stopping that medicine, dark hyper-pigmented spots appeared on armpits and neck. For it, she had taken the steroid. After stopping steroid cream in 2011, hyper-pigmented patches had spread on other body parts. In that patches, itching and burning were absent but dryness was seen on the whole body. Apart from Lichen Planus Pigmentosa, she was not suffering from any other complaint. At the time of consultation, she was taking laser treatment for LPP.

She had fair skin and was of average build. She was vegetarian by diet. She desired spicy and sour food. She didn’t like sweets. Her thirst and appetite were average. Her perspiration was profuse and offensive. Her bowel movements were satisfactory but every alternate day. Her sleep was sound. Her menses were regular and comfortable.
She was working as an architect. Her father was a chemical engineer and her mother was a homemaker. Her sister was married.

She had a fungal infection, chicken pox and malaria in the past. There was no specific family history.

Dr. Shah studied her case in detail, and she was prescribed research-based molecule and she was advised to do blood tests.
On 11th November 2016, when she gave her first follow-up, she was reported no change in her condition. All the spots were the same. In her blood reports, her Vitamin D was very low so she was advised to take the vitamin D supplement.

A few months later on 17th March 2017, when the patient visited the centre, the patient informed that her LPP was showing some improvement. Hyper-pigmentation of her hand, thigh, abdomen, and back looked dull in colour.

A few months later on 11th November 2017, she informed that her condition was stable. Her all dark patches looked dull in colour. But her fungal infection was aggravating.

A few months later, the patient visited at LF centre on 17th March 2018 for the follow-up. Her LPP had improved by more than 75%. All hyper-pigmented patches looked very dull. No other symptoms were present.

On her follow-up on 21st July 2018, she reported 90% improvement in her hyper-pigmented spots. She was very happy with the result. But her fungal infection was still there so she started the treatment for it. On 9th October 2018, she gave her next follow-up. Her condition was almost to covered. Overall, she was doing very well with the treatment.

Patient’s condition was very good so she stopped the treatment.
