Hey all the lovely ladies out there! Are you suffering from hormonal imbalance?
We women are familiar with PMS or menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, fatigue, weight gain, depression. But do we know that we suffer from these symptoms (and many other than these that we ignore) because of hormonal imbalance?
Everyone experiences periods of hormonal imbalance at certain points in their life. Women naturally experience several periods of hormonal imbalance during puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, pre-menopause, menopause and post-menopause.
A healthy body will produce all the hormones in necessary quantity that is needed for a smooth functioning of the body. The body becomes unbalanced when it is subjected to toxins, unhealthy food, stress and irregular eating and sleeping patterns, also sedentary life with no regular exercises.
Result. Hormonal Imbalance.
What do hormones do?? Hormones are important to help regulate major body processes like
– Heart rate
– Menstrual cycles
– General Growth
– Stress levels
– Body temperature
A body with hormonal imbalance and all the above goes for a toss.

– Weight gain or loss
– Increased facial hair
– Cyst in ovaries
– Irregular menses
– Heavy menstruation
– Sugar/carb cravings
– Changes in sensitivity to cold and heat
– Changes in heart rate/ blood pressure
– Weak bones
– Change in appetite
– Irritability and anxiety
– Difficulty in concentrating
– Mood swings
and this list is long.
It’s really unfortunate to see that hormonal imbalance is often treated with hormonal replacement therapy (HRT). It’s commonly seen that anti-contraceptive pills or other synthetic hormones are prescribed to treat your symptoms. Such medicines only make your body dependent on these pills instead of making your body produce its own hormones.
But hey! That’s NOT the solution.
A lot of the hormonal imbalance symptoms can be fixed naturally by changing your lifestyle and diet first, before turning to synthetic medicines and hormonal supplements.
So, eat the right nutrients, exercise regularly, practice yoga and meditation. Healthy habits will take you a long way towards improving your hormones and health.
