Case-1

An eight years old girl (Miss S.A. PIN number L-9103) reported to the clinic for the treatment of residual symptoms of Guillain-Barré syndrome. She had poor muscle power, difficulty in getting up, difficulty in writing, reduced mobility of fingers and hip joint. She complained of low energy and easy fatigue. She was suffering from Guillain-Barré syndrome, since the last 10 months. She was under active physio therapy, but still a few residual symptoms were persistent. She had difficulty in walking and would fall down frequently, which was corrected with the initial treatment.

She also complained of recurrent upper respiratory infections and frequent headaches. She also complained of hypo pigmented patches on the cheeks. The spots were due to fungal infections.

Her case was taken in detail.

She liked spicy food. She was uncomfortable in the hot weather. She perspired profusely. She was a lean girl, with a smiling face. She was calm and friendly by nature. She was very affectionate and caring. Since the last one year her nature had changed.

She had become very weepy and sentimental by nature.

She was good in studies.

Her nerve conduction and EMG reports were suggestive of motor degenerative neuropathy of all the limbs compatible with of Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Dr. Shah studied the case and prescribed Causticum 200 C, to be taken thrice a day.

The treatment was started on 22th November, 2006.

After two months, she reported good improvement in her fungal infections and hypo pigmented spots on the face.

There was slight improvement in the power in the fingers and hips.

In the forth month, she reported complete recovery in the hypo pigmented spots and fungal infections. There was good improvement in her body movements, hip movements. The power had improved in hip joints and fingers. Her handwriting had improved very considerably.

By the Eighth month, she showed complete recovery in all the residual symptoms of Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Power in hands and hips was almost normal. Handwriting improved and became as previously. She had no difficulty in writing, walking and running. She could walk and run as before.
