A Child With Autism, ADHD & Dyslexia Recovered Remarkably With Homeopathy
A six-years-old boy named Master D D R (patient identification number - 17787) visited Life Force on 17th December, 2011 with the complaints of Autism, ADHD, as well as dyslexia.
His parents started noticing some typical symptoms since the age of three, and they were getting worse gradually. The child had poor eye contact. He was hyperactive with difficulty in sitting at one place for more than 5-10 minutes. He had poor concentration. He faced a difficulty in writing and drawing. He was very aggressive in nature. Parents informed the attending doctor that he turns uncontrollable when angry, so much so that he used to beat others. He was egoistic so much so he could not accept that he gets a zero. He never accepts that he commits any mistakes. As far as his milestones were concerned, all of them were normal except speech. Although talkative, his speech was not clear. He used to make stupid and silly faces during the case taking. The doctor also found that the child was very stubborn, and he was not listening to his parents’ instructions.
Parents had consulted their pediatrician in the past for his complaints and took the conventional treatment for a year with no relief. So, the parents now thought of starting homeopathy for him with the strong recommendation of his grandmother who was being treated at Life Force.
Physical Generals:
He was a vegetarian with an average appetite. He had a liking for sprouts. He used to sweat profusely on his forehead and was very sensitive to cold. He slept well. He passed motions regularly and had no problems in urination.
Family History And Set Up:
He lived with his parents in Mumbai. His father was a traffic police while his mother was working in market research. In his family, his maternal grandmother suffered from Trigeminal Neuralgia, Underactive Thyroid, and macular amyloidosis, and she was being treated at Life Force.
Dr. Shah evaluated his case in detail. He found that the child was very restless during the entire case history. He prescribed Baryta Carb 30 along with one of the research based medicines for six weeks. Dr. Shah counselled the parents in detail regarding how to handle a child having Autism, ADHD, as well as Dyslexia.
Within six months of the treatment, parents could notice difference in his restlessness. His anger and obstinacy had reduced remarkably.
After a year’s treatment, when the child visited on 26th December 2012, the attending doctor could see much improvement in him. His concentration had improved, and he could now sit for 2 hours (which was earlier not more than 5-10 minutes). His speech had improved as well. His eye contact had improved, and the child looked more settled. Dr. Shah upgraded the medicines based on the follow-up.
In November 2013, the child was evaluated for IQ which was about 70-80%. He was improving on the whole and responding quite well to the medicines. His speech was improving but still not clear. So, we suggested speech therapy to be started with homeopathy.
In April 2015, patient’s mother informed us over the phone that there was 70% improvement in the child. His speech had improved considerably. He now cleared all the subjects, which previously he was unable to. His grasping and concentration had improved. His anger and obstinacy had subsided, and the child was more keen on studying academics.
Parents continued the treatment for four years. In Feb 2016, they stopped the treatment as the child was completely better and showed no signs of Autism or ADHD. He was scoring well in the exams and turned quite confident academically. His restlessness had subsided and temperament had cooled down.
Conclusion:
It was a difficult case as it had symptoms of Autism, ADHD as well as dyslexia. Homeopathy as well as auxiliary measures, such as speech therapy and occupational therapy, together produced highly positive results in cases of Autism and ADHD. As observed in several cases of Autism that we have treated so far, the earlier the treatment begins, better are the results.
