Slow & Gradual Control Attained Over Polymyositis With Homeopathy

A 47-years-old homemaker, Mrs. S.U.D. visited Life Force on 20th September 2010. She had gradually developed weakness in her lower body.

This had started around 1992 when her weakness was so much that she could even not kick the football too far. Gradually, she felt that her walking had become slow and stressful. She would require support to climb the stairs.

After 2000, she also started falling frequently. At present, since a year or two, she could even fall down by a slight push. She now used to walk with the help of a walker. She required support to get up from the chair. She could not sit down on the floor. She would tend to fall due to weak and involuntary twisting of ankles. She was previously diagnosed with myopathy but it was progressive. She was investigated by a neurologist in August 2010.

She was a dancer before marriage. Her husband was a chef in a renowned hotel in Mumbai. She was fond of cooking, movies, watching TV, dancing, chatting with friends, operating computer etc.

One day, while surfing through internet regarding her condition, she came across Dr. Shah’s website. She then came to Dr. Shah to start her treatment. She was a positive and fun-loving person with childlike innocence. She was adjusting and social as a person. She feared of staying alone and darkness. She had always been mild and yielding in nature as her elder sister seemed to be dominating.

She was obese, weighing 95 kilograms. She had been diagnosed with underactive thyroid 15 years ago and was taking conventional medicines. She had severe pain in her knees since three to four years due to osteoarthritis. The pain was as intense as if a cartilage had been fractured. She was taking multivitamins, painkillers, and calcium tablets as prescribed by her doctor.

She had an average appetite and liked all tastes and fish. She would sweat profusely. She was intolerant of the warm temperature.

Dr. Shah prescribed a few research-based medicines after a detailed case analysis. She was explained by Dr. Shah the scope and recovery possible with homeopathy.

After 6 months of medications on 24th March 2011, she was happy with the slow and gradual improvement in her condition. The weakness in her legs was less. She was able to walk with the walker a slight more distance than usual. Her dependency on the painkillers was decreasing. Dr. Shah upgraded her prescription subsequently.

After a year’s medications on 14th November 2011, her symptoms were stable. She could judge the difference she had experienced in her complaints within a year. The deterioration had slowed down. Her pain and weakness were less as compared to the pain and weakness a year before. Her joint pains and bone pains were the same. The acidity due to the intake of painkillers was much less. Her medicines were upgraded by Dr. Shah.

After one and a half years of medications on 22nd March 2012, her CPK levels had reduced to 179 from 219. The symptoms were stable. Her relief from weakness and pain in the legs was further improved. There was no further deterioration in the symptoms. The joint pain and bone pains were same.

Dr. Shah was reviewing the follow-ups and upgrading the medicines as required.

After two years of medications on 28th September 2012, she was overall 30% relieved of the pain and weakness. The joint pains as well the bone pains were improving. She had been detected with cervical spondylitis two months back and was taking physiotherapy for the same. Dr. Shah had added a few medicines for this as well. Her painkillers were completely stopped. Her acidity was under control very well. She was happy with the improvement so far.

After two and half years of medications on 10th April 2013, there was a further improvement in her condition. She would walk with the help of a walker and her speed and mobility had increased over time after medications. The relief from acidity was improved by 70%. Her joint pains and bone pains were also improving.

Since the past six months, she was maintaining her diet, practicing walking, and was able to lose 14 kgs. And, she was happy to report it. She had always been positive about her recovery.

After three years of medications on 30th September 2013, she was feeling much better about her recovery. The positive result was that the disease process had stopped deteriorating. It was under control very well. The symptoms of pains and weakness had improved to a considerable extent. She is still under our care.
