Improved Quality Of Life & Increased Mobility Achieved With Homeopathy At Life Force In Case Of Rheumatoid Arthritis
35-years-old Mrs. MVP (PIN 32468) visited Life Force Homeopathy in June 2017 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
From 2015, she was suffering from polyarthralgia (pain in multiple joints). She would experience pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints of fingers, toes, feet, wrists, and bilateral shoulders. She would suffer from morning stiffness for around 2 hours mostly in the joints of fingers. Due to a restriction of movement of the affected joints, she would get difficulty in gripping and holding the things. In this way, the disease had started affecting her daily routine significantly. She would get the continuous dull pain over the affected joints, particularly both the shoulder joints. Her pain would increase in the morning and on exertion. She would feel better by hot fomentation. After the investigations, the diagnosis was confirmed as ‘Rheumatoid Arthritis’. (RA factor was positive (14.2 IU/ml) as per investigation done on 9th Oct 2016. Antinuclear antibody was positive and C reactive protein was high as per investigations are done on 22nd March 2017)
She was on the conventional treatment for around 8 months when she visited Life Force Homeopathy. She was on hydroxychloroquine, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and paracetamol with no significant relief. She took oral sulfasalazine for around 3 months in October 2016 with no significant relief.
She had associated complaints of secondary infertility and anemia for which she was on the conventional treatment.
Mrs. MVP had a past history of gestational diabetes. Her father and grandfather suffered from diabetes. Her mother had arthritis in the knees.
She was a homemaker staying with her family. Her husband was running a ready-made garment shop. He son was 6 years old. She had very cordial relations with her husband and family.
After going through the case details, Dr. Shah analyzed the case and prescribed Calcarea Fluorica 30, Medorrhinum 30 along with his research-based medicines.
In July 2017, the patient visited for the first follow-up where she mentioned a mild relief in her joint complaints. She continued her conventional treatment hydroxychloroquine, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and paracetamol as earlier. Dr. Shah revised the prescription as per feedback.
In September 2017, the patient reported overall 15%-20% improvement in rheumatoid arthritis. The pain in joints of fingers, toes, feet, wrists and bilateral shoulders and the restriction of the movement had reduced. There was around 50%-60% improvement in the morning stiffness. The range of motion of her joints had improved significantly. She had stopped her conventional treatment (hydroxychloroquine, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and paracetamol) completely. She continued the medicine prescribed by Dr. Shah.
In November 2017, the patient was very happy to report 60% improvement in her condition.
In January 2018, when the patient visited for a follow-up, she reported around 80% improvement in rheumatoid arthritis. Her relief from joint pain, stiffness, and restriction of movement had improved a lot without any conventional treatment. Gripping and holding things was no longer problematic for her. She would do her daily activities with an ease.
In February 2018, there was a further improvement in her condition. Her rheumatoid arthritis was better by around 90%.
Mrs. MVP is still continuing with the treatment to control the further progress of the disease and complete recovery.
Conclusion:
This case highlights that in chronic autoimmune cases like rheumatoid arthritis where the patient is dependent on hydroxychloroquine and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for a longer duration, administration of the homeopathic treatment initially gives relief from the symptoms and slowly improves the quality of life of the patient. Once the symptoms are under control, the dependency and the use of conventional medicine can be minimized and eventually stopped completely.
