Is Homeopathy Effective In Treating Depression & Anxiety Disorder? - This Case Study Answers It
Mr. R. B. (PIN: 37733) an academically bright student was living his life happily and preparing for medical entrance. But, maybe due to his overambitious nature or continuous mental pressure, suddenly his life changed. Depression and anxiety disorder affected him. He was suffering from depression and anxiety disorder for 3 to 4 years. He had taken sleeping pills, anti-depressant medication, and other conventional medicines for 2 years. For that, he got the result for the time being. He stopped all medicines one year back, and his complaints of the condition increased for 3 to 4 months. Due to the progressiveness of disease, the patient consulted at Life Force in August 2018 & started the homeopathic treatment.
For the prescription, his detail case was required. He had a panic attack in his past and, for that, he was hospitalized once. But, after that, no panic attack repeated but, symptomatically, he was very sad, moody, and depressed. He didn't like a contradiction, and, during contradiction, he turned violent. He liked to be alone and in dark. His concentration was difficult. Forgetfulness and weak memory were also present. He was confused mostly. He had no close friend, and he was also not interested to share anything with anybody.
In addition to this, he had a fatty liver. He was a non-vegetarian and fond of eating non-vegetarian food. His perspiration was profuse and generalized. Mostly, he was not comfortable in the summer. Due to his fatty liver issue, he was advised to avoid oily, fatty, and heavy food. He was also advised to perform exercise regularly.
In the past, he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, but it was under control. He was not on any medicine for this complaint. He had chickenpox and dengue in the past. Except for this, he had undergone surgery for DNS (deviated nasal septum) and adenoid complaints in his past. In his family history, hypertension, an underactive thyroid, and kidney disorder were present. With these, he also had the genetic history of anxiety. His paternal grandfather was also suffering from anxiety complaints.
After studying the case details thoroughly, Dr. Shah prescribed Staphysagria 30 and his researched-based molecule to the patient.
Follow-Ups:
In October, he reported no change in his condition. However, his condition was stable. As per his condition, the homeopathic medicine was prescribed to him for the next 8 weeks.
After the four months of the homeopathic medicinal course, in February 2019, he gave his feedback. He had experienced some positive changes for initial months, but, again, due to the stress of the entrance examination, which was going to take place in May 2019, his disease symptoms aggravated. So, Dr. Shah did the required changes in his prescription.
In April 2019, he reported a drastic improvement in his condition. Even due to the pressure of entrance examination, his relief in most of the disease symptoms had improved by more than 80%. His relief in irritability and anger symptoms improved a lot. He was calm and quiet. His concentration and relief in solitude symptoms also improved.
He gave his last feedback in July 2019. His condition was 95% improved. He had not experienced any panic or anger attack for the last 4 months. He gave his exam comfortably in May. His memory and concentration improved. And, he experienced relief in gloomy behavior and all other symptoms. Overall, his condition was good.
Due to good recovery, he stopped the treatment. He was quite happy and satisfied with his improvement.
