Polymorphous Light Reaction Was Treated Successfully With Homeopathy At Life Force

A 27-year-old housewife, Mrs. M.T.G (PIN: 17339) came to Life Force on 21st October 2011. She had been diagnosed with Polymorphous Light Reaction (Eruption). She was suffering from skin itching and hypo-pigmented spots on her forearms for the last 8 to 10 months. On examination, it was observed that she also had mild scaling in the lesions. The itching was significant, and, sometimes, she would scratch till the skin bled. Her complaints increased in the summer and on the exposure to the sunlight. She had tried treatment under a skin specialist, however, there was no relief so far. She also suffered from recurrent headaches and scanty menses. She had headaches for 2-3 days every month, and they would be severe. They would last for one to two days. She would take some painkillers to get relief from her pain.

She stayed with her husband and father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and his family. She was studying fashion designing. She was gentle and polite. She was caring and affectionate in her relatives. She liked to share her things with others and enjoyed the company of her family members. If she had to decide on something, she would usually discuss it with others and then finalize.

There was no family history of skin disorders or allergies. Her mother suffered from high blood pressure.

She liked spicy food, and she did not like milk. She was sensitive to the cold weather. She did get headaches in the summer and before her periods. She had stopped the allopathic medicines two months ago.

Dr. Shah examined her and confirmed the diagnosis of Polymorphous Light Eruption. He prescribed Natrum Muriaticum 30c and a dose of Sulphur 30c intermittently. Later on, the remedy was changed to Sepia 30c.

She responded very well to the treatment in the first three follow-ups itself. The real test was in the approaching summer. However, the summer passed away without any skin trouble. She was completely alright in the summer. Her headaches had also reduced greatly. Now, her menses were also normal. Thus, she experienced a good improvement in her relief from all her complaints.

Conclusion:
This is the potential of Homeopathy. It does not restrict itself only to one complaint, but it addresses all the complaints of the patient. This case illustrates that homeopathy is highly effective in treating Polymorphous Light Reaction successfully and safely without any side-effects.
