Dependency on anti-histamine reduces and urticarial rash stopped; demonstrating how to reduce the medicine.

Mr. N.J., from Guwahati, Assam, 37 years old businessman, approached us for the treatment of chronic urticaria since over one year. Patient reference No. L-10796. He had multiple allergies, such as that with all dairy products, sour food, spices. In spite of having good control over the said food articles, he still suffered with urticaria almost every day.

He was prescribed the course of medicine by a local dermatologist, which included Eblast 20mg, twice a day, and Montair 10mg, twice a day.

In spite of the above conventional medicines ((antihistaminic), patient suffered with about 2 to 3 episodes of urticarial rash daily, lasting for over two hours each time. He was absolutely unable to reduce the dose of these medicines.

He also had frequent colds and sensitivity to dust, cold drinks, change of weather, humidity, perfumes, cold water bath, etc. He was having frequent colds since many years for which he was administered anti-allergic medicines by local GP.

It was noted that his allergies were at the level of upper respiratory tract as well as the skin. It was also noted that with the frequent use of suppressive medicines, his disease (nasal allergies) went deeper and exhibited at the level of skin, in the form of urticaria.

As per the homeopathic philosophical understanding of the immunology, now, if urticaria is again suppressed for a long time, the disease process could go even deeper and probably the patient may present with asthma.

It may be mapped as: nasal allergies, suppressed, skin allergy (urticaria), suppressed, Lung allergy (asthma).

On the emotional front, the patient was an aggressive, emotionally governed, anxious, hurried, shot tempered, easy to get frustrated, kind of a person. He had a family history (mother) of eczema (showing genetic component to his urticaria), diabetes, cancer (Father), etc.

On the basis of his complete total profile, a homeopathic medicine was chosen and administered on the 24th June, 2008; to be taken along with the conventional medicines. He consumed it for about eight medicines.

However, there was no improvement with the homeopathic medicine that we had administered, as the patient was still having as frequent attacks of urticaria as before; and was unable to reduce the dose of the conventional medicines.

His case was reviewed on 7th August, 08, and new medicine (Dr Shah's patented medicine) was sent to the patient. On the 1st Sept, 08, patient reported improvement. On 11th Oct, 08, he reported significant improvement, whereby, he was now able to reduce the dose of conventional medicine to half. On the 25th Nov, 08, there was some flare up. Some changes in medicine were carried out. On 6th January, 09, he reported significant improvement. Tablet Montair was stopped. On 24th January, he was further better, and could reduce Eblast from twice a day to once in two days. On 17th February, 09, he reported much more improvement and freedom from urticarial. His need to the conventional medicine reduced to only once in 3-4 days.

The patient is still under care as on 18th Feb, 09.
