Case-1: Chyluria responds well to homeopathy

This is the case of Mr. G.A (Patient Ref. No. 4237) a 58 years old male patient who reported to us with complaints of milky urine since 10 years. He had been diagnosed as chyluria (a condition in which lymphatic fluid is detected in urine). His complaints were aggravated by taking oily foods and milk products. Also during the past few months he had lost 10 kilograms of weight and also developed deficiency of vitamin B12 and folic acid. His cystoscopy with bilateral retrograde pyelography revealed few lympho-renal communications. He was treated with chelating agents' injections locally and Hetrazan but without any significant results. He had weakness on exertion since the last 7 to 8 years.

Along with this he also had complaints of chronic constipation and pain in the knee joints. He was a known case of hypertension since the past 8 years and was on regular treatment for the same.

His appetite and general health was normal. He was a vegetarian and his diet would be without any oil and without milk too. In general he kept good health without any other problems.

He had no major stress or tensions in life. He was happy with his job.

In the past, he was operated for hernia (at the age of 9 years). The only significant family history available was that his father had died of tongue cancer.

Considering all his complaints and his case history, he was prescribed Lycopodium 200 along with a dose of Thuja occidentals 200. Initially he was given medication for 4 weeks. Later after 4 weeks when he reported to us, his complaint of milky urine had reduced by 50%. Also his stools were quite satisfactory now. His knee joint pain was also better to some extent. In the next follow up he mentioned that his urinary complaint was better up to 75%. Also his constipation problem was better up to 80%. This time the knee pains were significantly reduced. He did not feel weakness any longer; instead he was much more active and energetic than ever before.

This case illustrates that even conditions like chyluria which did not improve with other forms of treatment, respond very well with homoeopathy in a considerably short duration of time.
