An Engineer From The USA Finds A Significant Recovery From His Stress-Triggered IBS With Homeopathy

A 28-year-old man from the USA, Mr. P.N. (PIN: 24909) approached the Life Force clinic in July 2017 for medical help for his Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) complaint. MR. P.N. was originally from a traditional South Indian family and moved to the USA in 2012 for higher studies.

We treat patients from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE & 180 more countries. Get an expert opinion on your ailment, click here to ask Dr. Shah's team directly.

Moving to the USA was his decision, but, no matter how excited he was in starting studies in the university, it was natural for him to feel a bit homesick and gradually it caused more distress for him, as he had not stayed away from home anytime and, in within 6 months after moving to the USA, he underwent emergency surgery for removal of his Appendix. Immersing himself in a new culture and language made him feel isolated. It was difficult for him to adjust to a new culture, this was the time when he started to experience the IBS symptoms. However, he faced all the challenges and completed his graduation in 2014 and got a good job in a reputed company in the USA. But, unfortunately, he lost his job in 2016 and, this was the period when his IBS symptoms worsened.

He started to experience severe episodes of IBS in November 2016. During the episode, the frequency of passing the stools was 2-3 times per day. The consistency of the stools was semi-watery. He used to experience a dull pulsating pain around the naval region which would extend from the abdomen towards the chest. He used to often experience the feeling of bloating which would get relieved after passing gases or stool. He also used to experience a lot of burping and nausea. Along with the digestive complaints, he experienced some dull pulsating pain in different parts of the body, such as arms, legs, neck, and other body areas. His complaints would get aggravated after the intake of spicy food, coffee, and fried foods. His complaints would affect his productivity at the workplace, and he was unable to concentrate on his work, and his whole concentration used to be on his stomach discomfort and the symptoms. His test for H. pylori bacteria was negative. He was on proton pump inhibitors and antacids on a regular basis to keep the symptoms under control.

He was a software engineer by profession and loved his job. Due to his IBS issues, he was not able to enjoy some happy moments in his life, such as buying a new car and getting a good job. He was a spiritual person by nature and understood the importance of maintaining a good mind and positive energy in order to have a good effect on his general health.

His appetite had reduced. He had a craving for spicy food. His sleep was sound rarely, and he had disturbed sleep.

In his family, his maternal grandfather and maternal uncle suffered from Cancer, and his father was a patient with Hypertension. And, his mother suffered from Hyperthyroidism.

Based on his case details, Dr. Shah prescribed Kali Carbonicum 30 for four months duration.

In his first feedback on 14th November 2017, he informed he was feeling much better after following 4 months of homeopathic medicines. His bowel movements were quite clear. And, his frequency of passing stools was 1-2 times per day. His bloating and pain had reduced by 50% and, importantly, he was feeling less anxious and his energy levels had improved.

He was better by 80% in the month of March 2018. He would still experience pain in his abdomen, acid reflux, or nausea, however, the intensity of his complaints was lesser than before. Though there was a significant improvement in his relief from IBS complaint, still, a little bit of change in his diet would create acid reflux or stomach pain. When he visited India to see his parents, due to the change in diet, he experienced a recurrence of the complaints. Dr. Shah re-evaluated his case and prescribed Lycopodium clavatum 30 along with previous medicines.

He experienced a further improvement in relief in the subsequent follow-ups and ultimately stopped the treatment after 1 year as he was completely better.

Stress and anxiety change our gut functions. Over a period of time, this can lead to unpleasant complaints, such as diarrhea, pain in the abdomen, and bloating. The above case highlights that homeopathic treatment helps in addressing the emotional stress and supports in reducing the negative emotions, such as anxiety, sadness, frustration, anger, restlessness, and others, effectively and safely without any side effects. Also, homeopathy helps in alleviating the abnormal hypersensitivity of the bowels and in relieving you of the symptoms of bowel hypermotility.
