A Case Of Chronic Lichen Planus Healed Wonderfully At Life Force Homeopathy
Lichen planus is an inflammatory condition of the skin and mucous membrane with characteristic symptoms, such as swelling and irritation in the skin, hairs, nails, and mucous membranes.

A 30-year-old patient (PIN: 39251) visited Life Force Homeopathy on 31st January 2019 for the treatment of his lichen planus which he was suffering for 3 years.
The patient on his first visit was presenting symptoms, such as
Small raised papular eruptions on the genitals, abdomen, back, and forearm.
Intolerable itching of the lesions that turn worse in the evening and night.
Lesions that bleed on scratching
Hyper-pigmented marks of the healed lesions, particularly on the forearms
On physical examination, no lesions were noticed on the mouth and scalp. Nails were healthy and had no deformity.
He was using TBIS cream (tacrolimus) for local application once a week (for 4-5 months) before that he used to apply it daily.
His past medication included:
1. Cap. Psorid (cyclosporine) 100mg TDS for 6 months which he had stopped since August 2018
2. Allegra 180 1-tab OD for 6-8 months
3. T. Omnacortil 1-tab OD for 4 months - stopped since January 2018.
A thorough and detailed case taking was done.
The patient told that he had a history of dengue 3 years back for which he took conventional therapy after which he developed lichen planus within 4-5 months.
His appetite was average, and he was, basically, a non-vegetarian. He had cravings for deep-fried chicken and drank 2-3 liters of water/day. His addictions included alcohol (1-2 times/week) and cigarettes (one daily). His motion was satisfactory, and he had no urinary complaints. When asked, the patient told that his sleep was good, and he had no disturbances or repeated dreams coming in his sleep.
Dr. Shah went through the case file in detail and prescribed appropriate homeopathic medicines after evaluating the whole case. The patient was also advised to control his addictions and was told to follow the diet chart of lichen planus given to him.
Follow-Ups:
His first follow-up was done on 2nd April 2019. The patient told that he had improved by 15%, and no new lesions had appeared. But, his itching was persisting. The itching was more during the evening and night. His hyperpigmented marks of the healed lesions were persisting.
In his second follow-up in July 2019, the patient complained of a slight aggravation in his symptoms. The itching was not getting om control, and he had new lesions appearing on the skin.
By October 2019, the patient started improving again. His relief in the complaints was better by 40%. The itching persisted but he experienced it only at night.
By June 2020, the patient got relief by almost 90% in his complaints. New eruptions stopped appearing, and his itching was also reduced considerably. Besides these, the patient also started noticing a slight change in the left-over scar marks of the healed lesions.
