Long-standing case of extensive psoriasis recovered magnificently with Homeopathy

Forty-one-year-old male, Mr. M.M.P. (Patient Identification No: 11119) visited Life Force on 1st September 2008 for the treatment of his chronic and long-standing Psoriasis of 23 years.

He presented with severe lesions on scalp, hands and legs. He also had mildly active psoriasis lesions on his face, ears and groins. He had started developing new eruptions on fingers, palms, knuckles, soles, knees, ankles, great toes and buttocks since three months. His psoriasis was rapidly spreading. He had severe itching, scaling, cracks on the skin, oozing and bleeding over the lesions. His complaints mainly increased in the summer season. He was on conventional medications; oral and local applications which  gave him only temporary relief. He had also taken ayurvedic and homeopathic treatment in the past from local doctors but it did not give him significant improvement. His daily routine and work was affected because of psoriasis.

He was a vegetarian by diet. He had peculiar liking for extra spicy and salty food. He used to chew tobacco. He had a tendency to excessive sweating and could not tolerate heat in any form. His bowel movements were normal.

He was into the business of advertising and film production. His wife was a home-maker and he had two daughters. His mother had diabetes mellitus and had passed away. His father stayed at his native place. He did not suffer from any major illness in the past. There was no family history of psoriasis in his case.

He had frequent quarrels with his father regarding his father's relations with a woman. He had completely opposed the relationship of his father with that woman and was not in talking terms with his father. His business had suffered huge losses. There was uncertainty of his work projects. He was completely stressed and irritable and often quarreled with his wife regarding money matters.

Dr. Shah studied his case details and prescribed him Carcinosin 200 along with the research based medicine for psoriasis. He was informed to gradually taper his steroidal creams.

After four months follow-up, there was good improvement on his knees, palms, elbows, knuckles and buttocks. There was mild redness and dryness over those sites. There was 50% improvement in soles and scalp. There were some cracks in the soles. The scales were visible on the scalp. He had little improvement behind his ears.

After another four months of treatment, he reported with 75% improvement on soles, palms, hands and legs lesions. There was further mild improvement on his scalp and on lesions behind his ears. He also reported of having major financial stress. Some changes in the prescription were made by Dr. Shah.

After regular follow-ups of six months, there was significant improvement on all the areas of the body affected with psoriasis. His scaling on the scalp had also reduced. There were no cracks on skin and itching had also reduced significantly.

After regular treatment for another 6 months, there was 90% improvement on hands, legs, soles, palms and ears. He had minimal complaints of the lesions over the scalp. He was happy to report that, he did not have any major complaints even during the summer season. He also reported that he had started enjoying his work and also his stress levels had fairly reduced. He was completely free from conventional medicines and his chronic and long standing psoriasis of 23 years was much under control with the help of homeopathic medications.

This case highlights the importance of regular homeopathic treatment in chronic diseases like Psoriasis. Homeopathy acts at the root-cause of the disease and the immune system is corrected which brings about gradual and significant improvement.
