A Case of Alopecia Areata and Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Mr. BK (Pin no.23026) , a 27 yr old boy came to Life Force on 26th of June 2014. He was suffering from Alopecia Areata  for the past 3 years.He had developed two bald patches on the left and right occipital region (posterior part of head).Along with this complaint he was also suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome  (IBS) since 3 years. He use to pass stools thrice a day immediately after food.He had taken homoeopathy treatment in the past for two and a half years without much results.

He had no other major illness in past. In his family his father suffered from Ischemic Heart Disease.

His appetite was normal. He was more tolerant to cold. He had no urinary complaints and no specific desires and aversions too. He was into business of courier services. He was short tempered but an optimistic man. He had no major stress in life.

After thorough case analysis prescription Dr. Shah prescribed his Research based medicines to the patient.

In his First Follow up he said that his patches of Alopecia Areata had stopped spreading further .There were no new patches either. Complaints of IBS also showed mild improvement.
 
In the Follow up taken on 11th of December 2014, his patches of hairloss showed twenty five percent improvement. Also his complaints of IBS showed remarkable improvement of about seventy five percent. Stool Frequency came down to twice a day.

In the next Follow up taken on 2 nd of February 2015 his complaints of Alopecia areata improved by fifty percent .He showed new hair growth in the bald patches.
His complaints of IBS showed further improvement..The urgency for stools immediately after food had reduced

The Follow up taken on 28th of April 2015,showed seventy five percent improvement in Alopecia areata and IBS.For the subsequent Follow ups his improvement was consistent

In the recent Follow up on 26 July 2016, Mr.B.K was very happy as his areas of bald patces on scalp had recovered to about ninety percent. And also his complaints of IBS showed about eighty percent improvement. The intensity of the symptoms came down and the stool frequency was twice a day.

In this way this patient has shown remarkable improvement in a span of 2 yrs. He is still taking treatment from us to avoid any future relapse.
