Cirrhosis of liver in a 42 years old patient, improved significantly

A 42 years male patient (PIN number L-9554) came to the clinic with complaints of Cirrhosis of Liver.
He was suffering from unexplained cirrhosis of liver, since 4 years.

This is not a case of Hepatitis C, but a case of Cirrhosis of liver, which is often a difficult end result of Hepatitis C. This case is reported here for the remarkable result.

He was non-alcholic, and his ultra sonography dated January 2006 showed: Cirrhosis of liver with portal hypertension with ascitis. He had a history of grade 3 varices and he had undergone banding for the same. He had undergone ascitic tapping 3 times in the past.

His blood tests for hepatitis C and hepatitis B were negative.
He complained of severe weakness and dullness. He was drowsy and confused, he was profoundly ill and his general condition was poor. He had vomiting 2-3 times a day since the last one month, which was not responding to allopathic medicines.

He was serious and had been recently discharged with a poor prognosis.
They were referred by a old patient who had benefited immensely under Dr. Shah for hepatitis C, and as such, the patient and his relatives had come with lots of faith and expectations.
His pathology was advanced and his general condition was run down, he was in the first stage of hepatic enceloalopathy.

Dr. Shah studied the case and prescribed Phosphorus 200 and Chelidonium 200 intermittently, as the symptoms demanded.

The patient reported slow improvement after 8-10 weeks of treatment, his vomiting reduced, appetite increased, but his confusion and drowsiness persisted.

In the third month of treatment, however, he improved very substantially. He started communicating in a better way, he became well oriented.

In the 4th month of treatment, he could even walk long distances, and starting attending phone calls and reading newspapers.

In the 5th month of treatment, he even joined work, which was a drastic step in his recovery process. He required ascitic tapping a couple of times during this period, but the frequency reduced, and we expect that its need will further reduce, as the liver takes up proper functioning.
