A 12-Year-Old Girl Finds A Complete Recovery From Alopecia Areata With Homeopathy

    A 12-year-old girl from Mumbai, Ms. D.A. (PIN: 30694) started homeopathic treatment in December 2016 for her complaints of Alopecia Areata. 

    She was suffering from this condition for a year. One bald patch was present on her scalp. Also, no hairs were visible on her eyelashes. No genetic link present for the same. She had taken allopathic treatment for a few months, but it did not give any results. The patient has also started with Ayurvedic medication, but, still, there was no significant change in her relief in the complaints.

     

    She was also suffering from an underactive thyroid, for which she was taking thyroid supplements.

     

    She had an average appetite. She had a specific desire for spicy food. Her thirst for water was less. Her sleep was refreshing.

     

    She was studying in school. Her father was in the Merchant Navy. Also, she had a younger brother. She was very caring and loving by nature.

     

    She never had any other major illnesses in the past. Her father had a history of an underactive thyroid.

    Follow-Ups:

    On 3rd February 2017, the patient reported that her complaints were as it is. The patch on her scalp was the same as before. A slight difference was observed on her eyelashes. Hair growth was observed on her eyelashes. Other than that, all her patches were as it is. Based on this feedback, Dr. Shah prescribed further medicines to the patient.

     

    On 23rd August 2017, the patient reported that there is a slight difference observed with the medicines. The spread of the disease had stopped. No new bald patch was observed on the scalp after starting with homeopathy. Moreover, hair growth was seen on the eyelashes. The patch on the scalp also showed slight hair growth. She was overall stable with the medicines.

     

    On 6th January 2018, the patient and her parents reported that she was almost 40% better with the medicines. The bald patch on her scalp had experienced hair growth. Also, the eyelashes had started experiencing hair regrowth. An overall improvement was noticed with the medicines.

     

    On 22nd August 2018, the patient reported being 50% improvement in her recovery from the existing patch, but she had noticed a new patch on her scalp. The patient and her family got very anxious about it. Dr. Shah reviewed her case in detail and prescribed revised medicines to the patient, based on new feedback.

     

    On 13th September 2019, the patient updated that she was completely fine with the medicines. The patches on her scalp were not visible now. A complete hair regrowth had happened on her scalp. Also, a complete hair growth had occurred on her eyelashes. She had completely recovered from her alopecia areata.
