Case-7
A 52 years gentleman came for treatment of genital herpes. Mr. V. A. (PIN L-9871) was a fair, stout and good looking person. He had mild manners and had a very dignified look.
He requested for a male doctor and submitted his case details.
Patient was suffering from genital herpes with multiple vesicles on the glans penis.
There was a big inflamed patch on the glans penis.
He was suffering from genital herpes since last two years. He was prescribed acyclovir with good relief of the herpes. But four months ago he developed acute gastroenteritis, after which there was a severe flare up of the genital herpes, which did not respond to the conventional medication.
There was severe pain and discomfort. The skin and V.D. specialist told him that he would require regular treatment for several years.
Acyclovir was leading to many side effects and it had stopped to reduce the inflammation, of late. The V. D. advised anti-virals for life long.
His HSV blood reports:
IgG (> 5.0 -- Positive )
IgM (> 1.1 -- Positive )
46.0 U/ml
0.48
At that time he was referred to Dr. Shah by an existing patient.
On detailed case history, the patient revealed that he had contracted the herpes due to an episode of oral sex in a pub in the middle-east.
He was a businessman and had to travel frequently to different parts of the world.
He emphasized that he indulged in oral sex under the influence of alcohol and on insistence of friends. Previously he was never engaged in any extra-marital relations.
Patient was visibly disturbed, depressed and remorseful.
He had stopped socializing; he had stopped sexual relations with his wife.
He would continuously brood about his illness; he would think that he is unfit to mix in society, what would happen if any one would know about this, all these thoughts were crippling his mind.
He would feel he is dirty, he would not feel fit to sit with friends or shake hands with them, though he knew that the disease would not spread this way.
Patient said that he has come up in life a very hard way. “ I struggled throughout my life, and lead a hand to mouth existence in my childhood.” Each pie was hard earned money, never went after money the wrong way.
This was the only one mistake of my life”. He said, even when you are with friends, you feel guilty.
He described his wife as a frigid woman. She was not interested in sexual life.
He would suppress his sexual desires or masturbate, but he never indulged in sex with other women. He regretted his mistake.
Dr. Shah studied the case in detail and prescribed Aurum Met 30 C and Staphysagria 200 C in varying doses, alongwith research medicines for genital herpes.
Within 3-4 months all the vesicles were healed and the large red inflamed patch started to heal. He had stopped all conventional medicines after starting Homeopathy.
During the treatment, there was a flare up of herpes, after an episode of fever, which promptly subsided and got better after Dr Shah made certain changes in the potency of the medicines.
There were complaints of cervical spondylitis and vertigo, which was also relieved.
Patient was asked to resume all regular activities and lead a normal life.
